This beautiful udu is made of plastic. A special feature of this item is the metal-filled metal chamber on the bottom. This creates fluctuating overtones that give a nice effect. Thanks to its size, this instrument can be used perfectly without amplification during acoustic sessions. To strengthen the udu well, a small hole has been made for a microphone at the neck. The ID9BK / WH has a beautiful, deep warm sound.
TechnicA short blow to the sound hole with the palm of your hand results in a high tone. If you hit and leave your hand on the hole for a moment, a lower bass tone will occur. You can ‘tweak’ these two basic tones further by forming an extra sound box with your other hand at the hole in the neck. This way you can make the tones sound higher or lower. You can also conjure up different sounds from this jar by using different finger techniques. Every place on the instrument sounds different.
